If you experience
any of the following symptoms you may have a yeast infection:
- Itching and burning of the vagina and vulva (external genitalia)
- The burning may be worse with urination or sexual intercourse
- The vulva (external genitalia) may be red and swollen
- A white "cottage cheese" vaginal discharge may be present. This discharge
does not have an odor.
- You may use over the counter medications (OTC) such as Monistat
- You may call the office for an appointment
- You may visit an emergency clinic or ER
If you use over the counter (OTC) medications
and the symptoms begin to go away but return, you may have a resistant

to further evaluate your treatment options.
